I think the best thing to do is jump on Best Buy’s website and filter it out to show you the Netbooks (aka–mini notebook) and look at the reviews for yourself. I’ve actually heard the best things about HP’s minis. Dell seems to have ok ones. But I’ve seen the best reviews about the HP and Asus ones. But sometimes, at the prices they sell them at, it’s almost worth it just to go ahead and get a bottom-of-the-line laptop.
Dell has one, but stay away from them - they’re horrible.
Fujitsu u810
Asus EEEpc
Acer Aspire One
Toughbook H
By "Mini Notebook" i think (And I’ll assume) that you mean netbook, Asus are good at those and they call them ‘Eee PCs’, Acer has the Aspire one and many other companies do. If you need it for work or studying then you should get a laptop or notebook, a notebook is a bigger laptop and can’t be used on the lap, a laptop can be used on the lap; a netbook however is for internet srfing, has no disk drive and has a small memory.
Here are some of the popular ones:
Asus Eee PC
Acer Aspire One
MSI Wind
Samsung NC10
Dell Mini 9
Sylvania G Meso
Here is a link to http://www.newegg.com showing all their netbooks. I have the list sorted in order of best rating. Click on the number beside the "eggs" to read what buyers have to say about the product. "5 eggs" is the best rating. Hope this helps.
I research everything I buy here.
The HP mini has poor battery life: about 2-3 hours. Plus they have a slow hard drive.
The best one to get is the Asus 1000HE:
