We are in the market for a new laptop computer that has just the basics but can also store videos and be capable of burning CDs or DVDs and I don’t understand all the abbrev. of Rws and such. Our budget can’t go to far over ,000. Any help would be welcome, thanks.

I will be getting one very soon and need to start shopping right now. It is my first notebook computer (had desktops all my life) and I like Dell and HP, but which one? Can I have some suggestions? Also, if you have other brands that you feel are totally cool, feel free to add them to the poll.

Thanks in Advance! :)

I’m looking for something that isn’t huge and bulky. I would also like it to be able to utilize wi-fi so she can study with her friends at coffee houses and such. I was looking at refurbished computers on the Dell site, but I don’t know enough to sort through all the tech stuff. Please provide me with all the specs I should be looking for in the computer.

I’m looking for a notebook for college, but I don’t know what kind or what specifics are really necessary. I’m going into engineering so I will need something that can run any program with a lot of graphics but I’m really not into gaming so I don’t need a lot of that. What is really necessary in a notebook? And what should I stay away from? Oh yeah right now I’m looking at a Dell. Is that a good name brand?
