I have a compaq,presario,v6000.Norton antivirus 2007.Windows XP. I have the same computer to access the internet before, but now I cannot.

I don’t know all that much about computers, and need to buy a laptop/notebook computer for my university study.
I will use it mainly for online study materials/forums, as well as word processing & emails mainly.
I’m trying not to pay a lot of money for it (up to 00 AUD), and am considering a Compaq Presario CQ60-217TX.
Can anyone give me some feedback on this computer? Would it also be able to run games like Spore?

Im having Compaq Presario CQ50-106AU Notebook. Please tell me from where i can check it’s warranty? Please provide me a direct link or something.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ50-110US Notebook PC (on Windows Vista).
The problem’s like this:
Everytime I turn it on, it boots normally - to the point where it asks for my account password. When the time comes to show the desktop, the screen shows a white ‘nothingness’. I have to restart it around 1-3 times for it to display the desktop. I’ve tried System Restore and all but to no avail.
Help please? Thanks in advance.

By desktop, I mean when it’s time to display the wallpaper, icons and all. In place of that, all it displays is a white screen.
