My Compaq Notebook PC won’t display desktop?
I have a Compaq Presario CQ50-110US Notebook PC (on Windows Vista).
The problem’s like this:
Everytime I turn it on, it boots normally - to the point where it asks for my account password. When the time comes to show the desktop, the screen shows a white ‘nothingness’. I have to restart it around 1-3 times for it to display the desktop. I’ve tried System Restore and all but to no avail.
Help please? Thanks in advance.
**in reply to Jerry J’s question:
By desktop, I mean when it’s time to display the wallpaper, icons and all. In place of that, all it displays is a white screen.

I am confused by the references to a desktop. Do you use it with a remote monitor? Download and run spybot
