How do I keep the Num Lock from coming on on my compaq r4000 notebook?
Whenever my laptop has been sitting for a while or after a restart my numlock comes on automatically. Is there a way to turn this feature off so it never does it? I know about doing Fn + num lk to turn it off AFTER it does it, but I want to set it so it doesnt do it in the first place.

Reboot your laptop and access the BIOS. There is a section in there with a setting for turning on numlock on boot. Just set it to no or off. Save settings and exit.
first i would turn your laptop OFF then make sure that every light is off on your laptop that should solve your problem.
