How do I get the little characters like hearts, musical notes, etc on my Compaq presario notebook?
Alt 3 doesn’t work on this computer.

my notebook keyboard doesn’t have a numlock key or the nbrs on the side. I guess that’s the prob. I have windows XP.

what do you mean it dosen’t work on your laptop?
it works on all computers, what type operating system are you using?
make sure numlock is on on the keypad.
hold down the alt key and press nbr3 and release both.
you can find all types of characters and symbols doing this using nbrs 1 thru 254. nbr 255 is a null.
at least this works on all microsoft opr sys.

download it off from other websites
if you have any word processor they are in the symbols, they are also in the clipart, but if you have word, Insert Menu, Symbols and then the symbols will appear and chose the ones you want to insert in your document.
