How do I completely delete all files (including OS) on a preinstalled Compaq Presario notebook PC?
I don’t like Vista, I want to clean install WindowsXp Sp2 on my brand new laptop but it shipped with Vista in it. CP model is C767TU.

Boot the xp cd follow the instructions. before installing new windows it will tell you Another OS is already installed on the System. They give you the option if you want to format the drive before installing. Do that and go ahead with Old xp
Boot up with the XP cd and follow threw with the directions. When it tells you what partition do you want XP to be installed choose C: and continue with the format. that will delete for sure. continue with installation…
Easy.
Boot up the installation CD and format the hard drive (or partition) that the OS is installed on then install the new OS on that formatted hard drive (or partition).
Make sure your BIOS is configured to boot from a CD or DVD.
If you dont have the install cd you can download an .iso file of g parted then boot from the cd with the .iso burned to it. and click format partition to nfts
