I own a Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook computer. I’ve had it a few months now. It’s been a wonderful computer with very little problem whatsoever. The only complaint is that when they sell it to you, they tell you that it comes with WordPerfect. Well, it does (so they’re not legally wrong) but it’s an evaluation copy. It didn’t matter to me because I own a copy of Microsoft Office so I didn’t really care.
Other than that, it’s great. It’s wi-fi and bluetooth capable, it has a media centre button so that you can use your computer as a portable DVD/media player but the user has no access to the other files on the computer. It boots a special section of Windows for that feature.
I think that it was a really good bargain considering the garbage I could have bought for the same money with another company. I used to own a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion ze5170 but it was just a waste of money compared to this one. As a matter of fact, the HP was double the price!
If you purchase through the website, in addition to the reduced prices to encourage web purchase, they also throw in other thank you gifts like free shipping, a free printer and a free laptop case or backpack. (I recommend the back pack… it’s awesome)
Talk to the computer store.Get a good warranty.Do they give you a service loaner? How long do they expect the computer to last? How do I know that it a brand new computer?(the computer has to be delivered in a factory sealed box—don’t accept it if it isn’t—the computer can’t be wrapped in a garbage bag)
laptop computers can be a rather tricky buy at times, I would suggest that you look out for the cheapest and yet latest desktop on the market,
the best way to do this is on what they call warehouse sale markets some of them are online.
these warehouse owners have a service where they sell laptop computers to normal customers like you and me, however with very reduced prices due to the fact that they do not have as much costs as normal shops do, such as rent and a employees etc. as you know most online shops have rather competitive prices sometimes cutting the laptop price to a half.
one such website for laptop computers is :
