Are there any school loans that I can get to purchase a notebook computer?
My college requires all students to have notebook computers and I’ve tried contacting the college about payment plans but they kept giving me a runaround. Yet, I don’t have any grants, and I don’t have enough money left on my direct government school loan. Are there any school loans out there in the U.S. that I can apply for to be able to purchase a notebook computer?

Nothing specific for computers, just regular loans. If you are already maxed out on your loans for the year, you might ask your parents to help you out. They can get a loan for parent of students. You could use that money to buy a computer. Just remember that every dollar you borrow has to be paid back plus interest. You might be better off getting a job, or increasing the hours at the job you have.
I just recieved an advertisement from Dell, they have notebooks for $500.
Check out dell.com/backtoschool it is a contest to win a free laptop computer.
If you choose to buy a dell, I could help you save another $20, just IM me and I’ll give you the code. I’ll keep the ad until tomorrow if your interested.
I was able to add it onto my school loans for my classes. If you aren’t able to do that, then I would look into a rent-to-own place and see what kind of deals they can do for you.
If you applied for FAFSA, or the governer’s board waiver, you might be able to get more help for a computer. They have it down on a worksheet you fill out. Your school web site should have a link to it. Hope this helps.
You can try to buy a used computer (I got one for $200~its a 2005 hp laptop). There are good stores out there (that honestly do look crapy on the outside) but have amazing prices. You can also test them out and see how you like it.
I hope for the best for you.
